Pamela Lilly Washington is Chief Legal Officer, General Counsel and Assistant Secretary of Crystal Stairs, Inc., in Los Angeles, California. Crystal Stairs is one of the largest child care and development agencies in the State of California that Stairs administers major federally, state and privately funded child care-related, family health and advocacy programs. Crystal Stairs serves over 40,000 children and their families. Ms. Washington provides legal counsel and representation regarding all legal matters of the corporation, and oversight of the human resources and other program-related functions.
Prior to joining Crystal Stairs, Ms. Washington was a partner with Mallory & Associates also in Los Angeles, where she focused on public finance matters and provided representation in general legal and litigation matters to corporations. She is a member of the New York and California state bars. While in New York, Ms. Washington practiced tax law with Chemical Bank, the New York City Department of Finance and Exxon and Exxon International corporations.
Pamela attended Spelman College and received her Bachelor of Business Administration from Western Michigan University, and her law degree from Boston College Law School. She also matriculated in the New York University Law School LL.M. Tax Program.
Pamela is married to orthopedic surgeon Eleby “Rudy” Washington and has two children; Whitney an attorney in Washington, D.C. and Eleby a medical doctor in Nashville.
Pamela’s present and past community and professional affiliations include Association of Corporate Counsel, Southern California Chapter Board of Directors (past Treasurer and Director Emeritus), National Association of Bond Lawyers’ National Bar Association, Los Angeles Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Auxiliary to the Charles R. Drew Medical Society, Black Women Lawyers of Los Angeles; Los Angeles Chapter of the Links, Incorporated, and University Christian Church.
