Alma Derricks is an incentive customer, media, and market strategist with over 20 years of experience collaborating with clients and partners to uncover, design, and launch innovative new businesses and brand extensions built to enrich customer relationships, expand market share, and capitalize on the unique capabilities of digital media. She serves as Vice President, Sales and Marketing for the Resident Show Divison, which oversees an expanding global portfolio of permanent shows in Las Vegas, Orlando, and Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
Drawing on a unique combination of media & entertainment, professional services, and consumer products experience, she has developed and launched multiple-medium brand extensions for a range of internationally acclaimed franches including Star Trek, Entertainment Tonight, Dilbert, and Peanuts and held a series of ground-breaking consultative and senior management positions at Paramount, United Media, Scient, the Los Angeles Times, Comcast, and HBO.
Most recently, as a Firm Director in Deloitte Consulting's Strategy practice and leader of the firm's "State of the Media Democracy" and "Gen Y Lab" consumer insights initiatives, Alma specialized in developing brand-driven growth strategies and was responsible for leading the practice's thought leadership in customer engagement, demographic trends, and media strategy. She managed new product launches, branding, content, and strategic planning engagements for leading media, broadcasting, live entertainment, telecommunications, consumer products, retail, and hospitality clients including Verizon, Redbox, NBC Universal, Blue Man Group, and Southwest Airlines.
A sought-after speaker, panelist, and moderator, Alma has spoken nationally on consumer demographic and psychographic trends, market strategy, branding, innovation, and the future of media & entertainment including keynotes and presentations at the Consumer Electronic Show (CES), the National Association of Television Programming Executives (NATPE), Digital Hollywood, and National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC) conferences.
A California native and current resident of Los Angeles and Las Vegas, Alma serves as a strategic advisor to The Public Theater (NYC) and Boston Ballet, and is a past board member of New York Women In Film, Stanford Student Enterprises, Celebrity Series of Boston and Los Angeles Cable Television Access Corporation (LACTAC) channel LA36. She holds a bachelor's degree in International relations from Stanford University and an MBA from Georgetown University where she was both an NBC Fellow and Dean's Scholar.
