Prior to joining SolarCity in July 2015, Heckel worked for Kaiser Permanente, IBM and Abbott Laboratories. At Kaiser Permanente, an organization of 175,000 employees, Heckel was Vice President of Organizational Effectiveness. During her seven-year tenure, Heckel was a member of the Human Resources Leadership Team and oversaw an organization of 200 employees with an annual operating and investment budget of over $50 million. In her 11 years at IBM, Heckel was part of the Business Consulting Services division, where she rose through the ranks from a front-line consultant to the Partner and Executive level in the organization. At Abbott Laboratories, she was a Regional Human Resources Manager in the company’s Diagnostic Products division.
Heckel holds an MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management and is on the Executive Board of Directors for Woodminster Theater in Oakland.
