An accomplished speaker, corporate leader, and community advocate Markus is highly respected for his experience in the field of diversity, inclusion, and employee engagement. He has been a keynote speaker, panelist, and moderator for various non-profit and educational organizations on topics including supplier diversity, veterans initiatives, and building strategic employee resource groups.
Markus recently joined Symantec as a Global Diversity and Inclusion Manager. In this role Markus will oversee all global employee resource groups and partner across the company to help build an inclusive experience.
Prior to joining Symantec, Markus built and led the Diversity, Inclusion, Supplier Diversity and University Relations functions for CareFusion, a $4B global medical technology organization with more 15,000 employees. His team was instrumental in the improvement of diverse talent acquisition, retention, employee engagement, and community outreach. He led the company’s Diversity Council, Executive Steering Committee, and advised 4 Employee Resource Groups. He also had the added responsibility of leading University Relations with a formal summer internship program for undergraduate and graduate students.
His corporate career has included several leadership positions such as Sr. Manager of Supplier Diversity with The Toro Company and Division Procurement Manager with Coca Cola Enterprises. He is a former Chief Petty Officer with more than 21 years of combined service in the United States Navy and Navy Reserves.
